The Glasgow Art Show which was held from March 23 – 25, 2012, is expected to become one of the best shows in Europe. For the show’s first year, it was held at the Thistle Glasgow Hotel. The show was born after the Glasgow Art Fair stopped in 2011. The three day event had artists with their works displayed in over 50 galleries.
The show was an international event drawing a range of vendors included local Glasgow galleries and artists from regions as far away as Russia. The new show offered a variety of artists from painters to sculptures with something for everyone to enjoy. Other types of media showcased were ceramics and glass.
Tickets were required to attend the event. It was held for three days from Friday-Sunday. Passes included single day admission options up through all access weekend passes.
The group responsible for the Glasgow Art Show also coordinates the Edinburgh Art Fair
and Art Cheshire. Each of these shows also showcase local artists and galleries and are held throughout the year.
