GSA Offers Walking Tours with Artistic Perspective

The Glasgow School of Art (GSA) offers a variety of walking tours on campus and in the city. All tours are led by student guides who provide informative insight for each group.

The first tour is “Discover Glasgow Style” which focuses on the architecture and design within the city. In particular, the tour examines the influence of Charles Rennie Mackintosh on the city. The tours are held Wednesday – Saturday and leave the GSA campus at 10:15 a.m.

Another walking tour offered is the “Glasgow Miracle” which examines the creative transformation of the city. The sites highlighted tell the story of the modern art which exists in new architecture in Glasgow. These are also held Wednesday – Saturday departing at 2:15 p.m.

Each tour last approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes. The cost for each individual tour is 24.50 per adult. Special pricing is available for students and seniors. Tickets for the tour can be purchased online through the the GSA website. The tours begin starting July 7, 2012.

Tours depart from the Mackintosh building right on campus. The building is located at 11 Dalhousie Street, Glasgow, G3 6RQ, and patrons should enter through the eastern entrance to the building.
